Grand Tour Morocco – 10 days: Imperial cities, deserts, oasis and kasbah’s
Day 1: Casablanca-Rabat: Departure from Casablanca
We start from Casablanca, the main commercial hub in Morocco. Pick up can be arranged from Casablanca Airport. Visit Hassan II Mosque; the third largest Mosque in the world after Mecca. Late noon lunch, afternoon visit to the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of Challah and Loudaya and spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
Day 2: Rabat-Meknes-Fez:
Breakfast and departure to the city of Meknes (once the capital city) where we will do a city tour: The museum Baba Mansour, Mouly Ismail mosque. Lunch and direction towards the second largest city in Morocco; the cultural capital of Morocco, Fez. To spend the night in your hotel surrounded by the local culture.
Day 3: Fez:
Fez, a UNESCO World Heritage City. After a hearty breakfast. The day is planned for a grand tour of the city of cultural capital of Morocco, with one of our local guide, Brahim. He will take you on a journey of life time walking around the famous labyrinth maze and passages, where people get lost. Visit the tanneries (smelly), local Souks, Medina and famous Fes mosque. Spend another quality night in this majestic city.
Day 4: Fez-Medelt-Erfoud-Merzouga-
After breakfast depart Fez via the desert town of Midelt and that of Erfoud to arrive in late afternoon at the inn, just at the foot of the sand dunes of Merzouga. Overnight at the local inn.
Day 5: Merzouga
After a warm breakfast, we embark on our expedition tour of the Moroccan deserts on luxury 4×4′s. Quick pit stop for lunch and a spot of Kamil (Animation & Gnawa music; Amazigh music) finally mounting our camels to reach your bivouac camps. Hidden away inside the vast sand dunes of Merzouga. Finally reaching the empty desert plains, watch the spectacular sunset take place and spend the night in a classical Berber tent; with all the fancy Berber music and feasting, through out the night.
Day 6: Merzouga-Erfoud-Tinjdad-Tingnir
Departure from Merzouga, towards the town of Erfoud. Efoud is famous for it’s fossils, as well as many Hollywood films made due to its natural landscape and scenery. We visit Khatarate in Tinjdad to arrive for lunch at the Tinghir Gorge, stroll in the park and marvel at it’s lovely streams and gorges and spending the night at our hotel there.
Day 7: Tinghir-Dades valley, roses, Oasis of Fint
From Tinghir, we start to reach the Dades gorges, where you will be served a nice picnic lunch; through the valley of roses, visit the Kasbah amardile to the palm of Ouarzazate. Finally arriving late afternoon, evening at the lovely place of Oasis Fint; spend a night in Berber camps with some more Amazigh music and entertainment, not to forget feasting like royalties.
Day 8: Oasis of Fint Ouarzazate-Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech-telouet
After breakfast at Oasis of Fint, we depart for Ouarzazate ; Hollywood of Morocco, where great films like the ‘Gladiator’ was made.
Visit Kasbah Tourirte after taking the road to Marrakech and we will stop at Ait Ben Haddou for lunch and visit the Kasbah ; Ait Ben Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We continue to the village of Telouet then get to Marrakech late afternoon – evening.
Day 9: Marrakech
Welcome to the imperial city of Marrakech, where ancient tradition meets modernity with a twist. The day is an opportunity to learn and see the great landmarks of Marrakech with our local guide. Visit Djemma El Fana Square, The great Koutoubia mosque, Menara Gardens, the Saadian tombs, Bahia Palace and many more sights and hot spots. Your last night will be spent near the Medina, where you are free to travel and walk around the square alone. Sample the food stalls or go for some local bartering at the shops. Relax and spend the well deserved night at your hotel and soak up the local culture around you.
Day 10: Farewell
After breakfast, your driver will take you back to the airport for your return. End of Tour.
